Designed by David Chipperfield, Corrubedo Wall Light
has a straight-forward geometric lines that offers diffused
light emission upwards or downwards. Screen in polished
white painted metal or with a mirror covering the
frontal part of the lamp. Side diffusers in satin glass
allow lateral and soft light. Available in two sizes: small
and large.
Lighting fixtures bringing to mind vivid impressions of a
close and fruitful relationship between learned, original
creativity and a productive capacity open to innovation.
A never interrupted relationship between the company
and the architects that grew stronger and stronger and
produces proposals and solutions capable to excite and to
create the right balance between the human need of light
and darkness.
About the Designer
David Chipperfield was born in London in 1953 and he
obtained his Architecture Degree in 1977. In 1984, after
partnering with Douglas Stephen, Richard Rogers, and
Norman Foster, he founded the David Chipperfield Architects
firm. With branches in London and Berlin, the firm is a
multi-language and multi-cultural centre where the age of
the architects is compensated by their experience. The 90
people who work for the firm come from 16 different countries
and speak more than 22 different languages.
The David Chipperfield Architects studio has won more than
20 national and international contests and was awarded with
many international awards and citations for achieving
excellence in planning. In 1999, David Chipperfield was
awarded with the Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal. The David
Chipperfield Architects studio designs are very often
found in many books, articles in newspapers, and magazines,
and they on display in its international offices.
Currently, David Chipperfield is a professor of architecture
at the United States of Sassari University, in Alghero. He
designed the Abaco system with Metis studio, the hanging
lamp Chandelier, the wall lamp for indoor and outdoor
Corrubedo and the recessed system Slot for Fontana Arte.
