Designed by Susanne Philippson, Joiin Pendant Light explores
the notion of weaving light. The design includes a series of
curved surfaces that couple together to shade its light source.
Up to three of these lampshades may be connected allowing their
surfaces to interact, folding into itself like a ribbon of
light. The textile used to cover the shade comes finely coated
with tiny glass beads, appearing white like frost, when viewed
from an angle. Therefore the lamp catches attention even when
switched off since its surface reflects the light sources from
the environment. Joiin Pendant Light comes in black, white,
silver/grey and orange colors and available in three sizes:
small, medium, and large.

About the Designer
Susanne Philippson creates conceptual design that resonates
emotions. The minimal expression of form is influenced by
feminine sensuality and is coupled with a meticulous
attention to detail and choice in cutting edge materials.
Since founding her own company in 2005 with base in Berlin,
Susanne has worked for national and international companies
such as DroogDesign, Habitat, Pallucco or Diamantini Domeniconi.
In 2007 Susanne Philippson won the first Young Professionals
YDMI Award hosted by the German Design Council. Susanne is
further nominated for the Designprize of the Federal German
Republic 2010 and the Compasso D'Oro 2010 for the lighting
series Crinolina. She is a member of Create Berlin and further
supports the DMY International Design Festival Berlin.
